Ah, Metallica!! I've seen them many, many times, and had the honour to meet them in 1992, after a show in Manchester, UK, when we got stranded. We waited outside their tour bus til 3 am, cos we were getting picked up, and Jason Newstead opend the window and asked if we wanted a beer, since we'd been there for hours!! So we said yeah, and he came out, gave me and my 3 mates a beer and stayed chatting to us!! Lars came out, but Jaymz wouldn't!! We went three nights on the run to see them!! One of the best bands live. Ever!!...

No way, dude!! Like you said, you've been brought up with metal sounding a certain way, so when you hear the old stuff, it does sound simple. I grew up on early Metallica, hell, I was 13 and listening to Master Of Puppets in '86!! That was brutal for it's time, and Metallicas still best album to date...

yep!! Master is the best album they done. Cliff Burton was an amazing musician. I always wonder how Metallica would've turned out if he was still alive. The opening riff to master of puppetsjust sticks in your head, the mellowness that builds up into madness of Sanitarium, the chill out feeling to Orion, then the mayhem of Damage Inc just makes the whole cd amazing!! I'm going to have to put it on now!!...

I listened to Master of Puppets recently. I enjoyed it but like you said, when I first started listining to metal I had those massive bass beats and stuff so it didn't immediatly hit me how good the album is.

Hah, somehow i knew when i clicked this like, thing, on the forum page, i knew there was going to be either a "Metallica" or "Led Zeppelin" thread right up at the top somewhere, im a genius i know. But personally, ive never been a huge Metallica fan, and no i dont like Megadeth. When they first came out they were cool, but the fame caught up so quick that they all became stuck up? what the hell? i met Hammett in a MI stage studio down in Los Angeles, regardless of what ANY of you think, that man is an ***. Maybe he was just having a bad day? i dont know? but he was a *** to everyone, and we all had to leave the studio block so he could practice... rediculous. Whoever said Hammett is one of the greatest guitarists ever? uh... OH MY GOD? do you know any other guitarists? look up Paul Gilbert of racer x, Jeff Beck? or Jimmy Page? both of which started in The Yardbirds.
