    What About The Machintosh Users??

Hey, I just wanted to know if you guys have thought about the idea of maybe designing this game to be used by Machintosh users. Has this idea been discussed yet or is it a work in progress or have you thought about it, but decided against it. Because I have come across a lot of interesting and fun games that I would gladly pay for but doesn't support Macs. I would hate to see a game like this, one that, still in it's beta version, catchs my interest so well, fall to the ritual of only supporting Windows. And I wouldn't pass by the chance to see if my opinion or question, which ever you may call it, would have an effect on a game such as this. So to make my question simpler, Are you going to make this game available to Mac side of gamers or, like I said above, follow the ritual done by so many other game factions and leave it all to the Windows?

The game is not native to Linux or Mac OS X. WINE tests have failed.

The game uses high-level winsock functions not necessarily present in standard TCP/IP socket implementations

More importantly, the game uses DirectX. Rewriting a game for OpenGL would mean a lot of work.

Porting the game takes time and energy. As far as I can tell, the developers would rather finish the game, which is sensible.

This topic has been discussed in the following thread: http://www.warriorepic.com/community/forums/t/4313.aspx

Actually, after installing the game to a flash drive with windows, I've gotten the game to run a little in linux (running the game from the flash drive), but I'm still getting lots of errors in wine, haven't tried cedega at all though. Maybe something like Codeweavers would work. You might also try VMware or Paralells on your Mac (I don't have one handy so I can't try it myself)

I would love this game more if it could run natively on Mac OS X ...

But one can only dream! Embarrassed

The answer to someone asking about how to get any game working on a different OS is never "it doesn't matter, just use windows". And all those programs I mentioned were "virtual windowsxp".  Opensource software is a beautiful thing and any ties people can try to break to the closedsource world, then I cheer them on (yes I know OSX isn't open, I dislike it more than I dislike Windows really, but that may just be to a bad experiance with a ibook G4 (old PPC processor) that wouldn't run half of my linux stuff) : )
