    Aim your attacks

I think the point, click, then wait is tiresome. I would really like to aim where my archer shoots and be able to hold down an attack button rather. As a pit fighter I would like to be able to switch from one enemy to the other seamlessly im battle without the auto retaliate function but by my own doing. Is there anything in the works for  intuitive combat gameplay ? Enough mmos already have the point and click and I can name a few off the top of my head easy ! IE: Guildwars, Diablo, Alot of asian mmos. So is this what with stuck with or is there any plans on a more immersive combat experience ?

    Re: Aim your attacks

I would like to see manual fighting ,it would look more dynamic ,wouldnt make you so sleepy infront of your computer ,and it should be skill based.

Diablo 3 already updated battle system to something like that if you watched movies of gameplay. So obviusly people are starting to be bored by looking on the same animation ("auto casted every sec") alll the freaking time.

    Re: Aim your attacks

Thank you guys. I beleive if we get enough people to agree we may be able to change the devs minds and have an affect on the game.

    Re: Aim your attacks

I thnk this would be cool, but do you have any idea how much work it would be to code this into a game which already uses a different style? While this is one of the funnest ways to play a game you also have to understand how much work it would be to do it. So if it doesn't get done, don't be upset. They are in closed beta and not making any money off this game yet, so any work they do they have to pay for with there own money.

    Re: Aim your attacks

There is simple rule ,IF  you want to create something really good you need to work hard on it. AI system dont need to be recofigured ( but it will be beacause Brice already sayd so ) , the only change will be changing fighting system to manual.

Most games on pegasus got something like that. Anyway the best fighting system I sow is in game that got 50MB , yes only 50mb. So someone here thinks that it will be so hard to create something similar by PS team??

    Re: Aim your attacks

I think the PS team is more then capable if changing it this early in the game. Hell we dont have half the classes full developed yet so we have quite a ways to go before launch. I think two of the biggest things keeping people away from this game are the lousy click to move (which could be fixed if they just gave us a patch already >.< ) and the super slow movement/combat. I brought a new person to the game yesterday and the first thing they said to me while playing was how come they move so slow can I fix this ? Luckily some of the ingame gear has the ability to grant this but doesnt quite work right now. So if any of you own a ps2 and have played baldurs gate dark alliance 1 & 2, champions of norrath 1& 2, Fallout brotherhood of steel, the bards tale..... any of those games a probably a few more. They all have a very simplistic manual attack system and the company was able to shovel out these games like crazy. Not only that but they also sold fairly well. One of the games still sells for 50 dollars at gamestop. So If they are able to change combat to manual and maybe add some flair to it then we would be super happy no ?

Also.... what do you think about being able to block manually ?

    Re: Aim your attacks

Yeah specialy archer and devo ,because they have shields. There should be just ,dunno 4 buttons ,so even from close range fight archer would be able to shoot arrows (but with penalty ofcourse). 3 buttons for attack (cuz every char got 3 normal attack i think) and 1 for block.

Blocking system need to be suggested well ,maybe it should jus reduce all incoming damage by x % depending from class.

Mouse would be almost useless then because adding WSAD system ( what will be added for sure) will be essential to manual fighting. Auto attack turn off, TAB to change target and gogogo kick arses.

There can be also normal attack combo system that include those 4 buttons combination to make special/faster/bonus damage moves. Passive combo skill tree to that ,player would just choose skill that unlock combo move in normal attack and here we got nice player skill based manual fighting.

    Re: Aim your attacks

Wow Herflik we are totally on the same page. Everything you have just said is just like wow yeah right there. I agree with everything you just put in your last post. I think something that would really seal the deal for this kind of combat system would be an assign your own keys to actions option with game controller support. Use an intel or xbox 360 or ps3 controller to play the game. That would be amazing.

A reason would be nice vampy. If you like this point, click, and wait then why not just play guildwars or any of the asian mmos ?

    Re: Aim your attacks

Maldebrode some people dont like fast dynamic action in game. Like my GF ,she only play "slow" games ,but I prefer the fast ones. Thats why one of my favorite games is Devil May Cry.

    Re: Aim your attacks

Well thats the thing if they want the same old cookie cutter crap they can go play the asian games or everquest where you hit the mob for a good 2 to 3 minutes before it dies. We need a fast paced arcade oriented mmo. It would be unique and it would sell. The main thing they want is money and if thats what they want then they had better give the gaming community something unique. I dont mean unique in that its a guildwars/diablo mix because if thats what happens, im out. I have enough slow- paced games to choose from already so why bother with this one ?

    /rant off

I want everything you had put in your last post herflik. I know they can deliver but if they dont then this ship will sink. Its ridiculous to think that the little micro transactions are going to keep a boring game above water. Better/faster gameplay will sell this. Arcades may have died off due to the computer and affordable gaming systems but damn did they have the best games out there and some were never ported over. People poured money into those machines in the beginning just to play and die and pop another quater in, it was an addiction to the action. I think micro transactions could work if we had this action and faster gameplay. It solves alot of things because most players are casual gamers that means you want maybe 5- 10 minute spree or 20- 30 minute sprees. There is noone who wants to spend an hour in any of the mission in this game (having the ranged people pick stuff off because you cant tank worth anything because the mobs keep bashing you even when you hit them). I agree a raid could take an hour as in (1 hour) not 2 or 3. Im tellin ya an arcade style would sell this and be completely unique.

    Re: Aim your attacks

People prefer dynamic player skill based game ( thats why they produe consoles) ,making something like that isnt really so hard ,mario bross in some way is more dynamic game then WE ,and it was made ages ago.

Good exemple of well selling game is cabal, they implemented nice dynamic graphic (game isnt really dynamic itself ,but looks like one) and its one of best mmorpgs now.

Second one is Lunia ,maked to top mmorpgs wery fast because its player based skill game ,thats wery dynamic (but the graphic is to candy still ,and much people dont like it)

I can suggest even wery nice and effective system that would give to fights awesome look ,but yeah thats all require hard work from developers.

One of the best fighting systems I found in PC game http://youtube.com/watch?v=IjceJOd7Noo, gundams that got only 50MB size and are totally for free. Dont look to dynamic but the 3D boxes for hiting and blocking are just owning all other games. Effects of attack are not limited like in other games ,they copied the anime in every way, didnt deleted some attack because they would be hard to make ,but they made all of it! CS:S ,Quake ,Unreal fighting systems are even worse then that ,atleast for me.
