    Re: Talisman Online

I play TO right now.. lvl39 Tamer.. do agree with you on this lol.. I've 2 fairys, an assassin and just made a wizard to see how I liked it.. for the most part, it is a great game IMO .. the story-line (what there is of it) and as to why it's poorly written to some.. well.. the game if I am not mistaken comes from a developer in Korea/Taiwan/China (not 100% positive) as to why they are going so strongly with the Monks (Monk is pretty much the most powerful char in the game to date..) It IS a really new game.. we who do play it are 'testers'.. tho at the time I started playing I didn't know this lol.. My main game for the past 2 1/2 years has been Anarchy Online, which I'm a paid player and a guild leader there.. that will always be my 'home' so to speak.. even through it's ups and downs.. my husband and I decided to give Tali a try as kind of.. may sound odd to some but a 'vacation' is the only apt way I can put it.. The guild I joined there (and I don't normally join guilds in games outside of AO because I am just a quiet observer most of the time) is fairly decent and we do our best to help each other out.. but not sure if anyone read my post here on PVP/PK.. this is a horrible issue in Tali as of current and even the GMs are ignoring the forums and feedback and it's getting frustrating :/  but I still continue to play between AO & TO.. mainly cause I don't want to let jerks run me out of someplace I like to be and let them feel they have won.. The main GM that I've actually spoken to many times in private isn't an english speaker.. he can but his comprehension of what I'm saying sometimes.. well the language barrier is hard but we do what we can to help provide a decent community for those that play TO to have fun and not be a pest.. they just added a 2nd server in hopes to help with the language barrier in the 'world' channel but it seems (since last I logged on) opposite effect lol.. but hey making do and still enjoy it.. keeping my fingers crossed they start paying attention to the ones on the forums with the correct suggestions soon so not to many people leave.. several friends I made have already left :/ anywho, my two-tin cents on Talisman. Play it with an open mind to the fact that it's in it's infancy stage still..

Graphics 7/10 (dislike not being able to manuever my camera closer or at some angles but it's because I'm accustomed to using the arrows and #pad for that on AO)

Community 6/10 (guild wise.. world channel I'll say 4/10 at current but you can turn that off if need be)

    Over-all.. 8/10..

Yes I do agree with that.. the development is slow.. but I've only played for about 2 months now not since start date.. the next patch is 'supposed to be promising' but.. we'll see.. I'll post again if it is something worthwhile.. I guess they're adding a new mount (free mount) for a quest for the 50-60 lvls but have yet to see any discussion on a lot of the current 'bugs and issues' affecting the gameplay and environment.. keeping my fingers crossed though.. just not holding my breath at the same time lol.

    Re: Talisman Online

I was wondering if this was another "grinder" type mmorpg? I don't mind investing time into a decent game, but I really dislike grinding right now. If the game is not too repetitive, I might look into it, but if it's a typical "grinder", then I wont try it out yet.

Probably not going to like it then honestly.. since the at current highest lvl achievable is only lvl 60.. it's rather easy to get to lvl 30 if you're dedicated but grinding from there on is sometimes just all there is.. there's quests but when those run out then it's doing reputation quests till you reach the next quest levels.. it's still got its' fun moments but yeah I'm gonna say this is a major grind from lvl 25+ and the world is still small and developing.. hoping the talk of adding more quests, lvls to 70 and such isn't just 'talk' and actually something they do soon :/

Don't get me wrong.. I actually totally enjoy Talisman.. My tamer is almost 40.. my fairy 21/17 and my assassin 17.. I think it's got potential.. they just have some stuff they need to work on as well but again.. I said it was beta stage so things could change and probably will lol.. For now I get on there to enjoy something new and will continue to do so.

    Re: Talisman Online

I'm going to take my chances and try out this game. If it's not a grinder until around lvl 25-30ish, then it might be worth playing for a little while. Any suggestions on what class to try out first?

Personally I like the Fairy/Wizard class even though I rarely play my Wiz at the moment.. Tamer I'm partial to for some reason lol.. great 'soloing' class but if you're a tank type, you'd probably like Monk the most.. most OP (over-powered) class in the game lol.. Assassin is great if you like the fast dmg dealer but like a monk, he runs on Stamina, instead of 'mana' like the other 3 classes.. but it has a fairly fast regeneration rate so it's not to bad, fairy is ALWAYS wanted because she's the only healer class that can buff HP and heal.. Wizard can of course do magic dmg but can also buff Intelligence which helps with mana pool.. Tamer you not only have your dmg but the aid of the pet, and depending on what type of pet you have (you can have up to 3 tamed pets but only 1 can be with you while the other 2 you keep in the 'Corral' in the warehouse) it has its own different 'skill'.. I have 2 'tank' pets that I level with me right now.. they're great to tank because they have a skill called 'force attack' which you can make it auto cast it (r.click makes it auto-cast) and it'll force the monster to focus on your pet for a few and you have the ability to heal your own pet.. which helps a lot for soloing.. I guess it's pretty much what your personal play-style is.. I play on the Light in the Darkness server if you do make a char and want some ingame pointers (can help to the best of my knowledge but again I've not played a monk yet or my wizard past 10 lol) my ingame name is Auryin.. but I hope you like it none-the-less.. something to hold the time till W.E comes about anyway :)  Good luck!

    ~Onyx

Oh, by the way.. it's not really a grind as much till around 28+ because there will be times at certain levels where all you can do is grind till the next level cause some of the quests are level locked.. well the majority of them are but they do have the 'rep/energy' quests you can do to help with that and also at 25ish you can start doing the Tide Cave/Lotus Cave scenarios which you can do 3x a day each and although they do get tedious, it is a good way to help fill the xp/energy holes and if you get a good and experienced team you can zip through them fairly quick lol.. only bad thing is the '24hr timer for x3 on each' lol well I *believe* it's 24hrs, I was told 3x a day which I'll take an educated guess and say 24hrs but one never knows, I haven't been that hard up to do it that often lol.. let me know if ya get started there :)

    Re: Talisman Online

Its amusing to say this, I've played maybe a week, gotten 2 characters 20+, and I still enjoy the game. Graphics are poor compared to some other mmorpgs but if graphics were everything, there would be alot less mmorpgs on the market. As far as playability, the game is semi newb friendly, and for the most part prevents character from being stuck in any general area by setting quests that take you to new quest areas. Music isn't a big deal for any game, turn on your own music.
