    WASD Movement

How much do you care about using WASD or arrow keys to move instead of the point-click?  I like when games use both setting simultaneously. I like being lazy and clicking on the horizon or a long corridor and letting my guy walk forever if he needs to, but I cant go without WASD. I find it inconvienent not being able to strafe or use the keyboard. Not sure what system WE is going to use, but I would assume that WASD is being used because of the level sizes and some areas look a little cramped (which are the worst areas to click and mouse thru if theres a mob in the way. Would no keyboard movement discourage you from playing? Feedback would be appreciated :)

    Re: WASD Movement

Yes, they are using both, I don't think they threw away Point and Click after they implented and announced WASD.

When I play with only WASD or only Point and Click I feel handicapped, it just doesn't feel right. I need WASD to give it a more realistic twist, don't ask me why it just does that for me, and I need Point and Click especially for the faster reactions you need while fighting.

    Re: WASD Movement

I think someone is into Counter Strike lol

Anyways about the WASD movement, it should be no problem if it isnt in this game since the mouse is really simple and 2 buttons is better than 4, but both is really good and will give this game more feel.

I have encountered though in some games when using the WASD movement keys that you sometimes get stuck on material etc but with the mouse it can bypass that material (Somehow). so a suggestion mite be to make pathways or building much more bigger to walk around.

    Cheers, Prolific

    Re: WASD Movement

I'm a heavy WASD user as I often times play on a laptop and sometimes I don't have a spare mouse around (You know what I mean if you have ever played with a laptop mouse) .  Being able to use Q and E to stride sideways is a nice bonus too.

    Re: WASD Movement

You know Maple Story has a great configuration system.  They allow you to rearrange any of the commands to whatever keys fit you best.  I think something like that where we had complete customizability over what we want to use for controls would be an excellent asset to the game.  I have played games that use every type of command system you can think of.  I have used every key at least once while playing online games.  Even some keys I never thought would serve as a purpose, like page up, down, home, and end keys.  So if you prefer the mouse, arrow keys, wasd, or even z,crtl, and alt lol (maple story), you could customize your controls the way you are used to most.  However the spell and skill system might be used differently, so you might have to go under certain boundaries.

I love interchangable interface windows.  Like being able to move the mini-map, item window, character screen, quest info windows all over my screen to give me the optimum appearance I prefer.

So why limit yourself to just WASD or point and click? When in this day and age you can make it however you wish it to be.

One day at a time, may be one day too late.

I havn't played Conquer/Rabbits Online before so I don't know how their jump system is. I think of the jump system in like WoW and CS.

    Re: WASD Movement

I prefer WASD and I thought I heard that this game has customizable controls but I don't think WASD will work that well for this game. It looks more like a game that will work better with mouse clicks.

I'm pretty sure I have not seen this anywhere in the forums, except for people saying it would be nice.  nothing from brice or any of the ps people.
