I wrote this a few months ago for twists on tales or something. God knows, but if you have a black sense of humour you might like it. The original story that this was a twist on is know by henny penny/chicken licken/chicken little. The film chicken little is set after this story if you didn't know.
If your over the age of 10 and aren't reading this to small kids, look away now or you WILL be BORED! Its a quite dark kids fable.
So without further ado, gather around children. (Who is under 10 here?! Just read it to your kids if you must.)

It was 1942, a small country area stuck in the middle of a World War 2 battleground sets the scene. This is but one of the stories that could be told of the animals in this countryside. For these animals had no clue what had happened to there skies, from as blue as pebbles are smooth to as dark as the night sky. All sorts of unexpected things happened.
One day Henny Penny was scratching in the farmyard looking for something good to eat when, suddenly, something hit her on the head. "My goodness me!" she said, examining this strange obect. "An object like this could only be made in the heavens, its so smooth and shiny!" she thought to herself. Suddenly another thought hit her and she shouted out immediatly "Oh no, if this really is from the heavens that means that the sky must be falling down! I must go and tell the king."
She had not gone far when she met her friend Cocky Locky who was repairing her broken shed.
"Where are you going in such a hurry?" he called out. "I am going to tell the king that
the sky is falling down," said Henny Penny.
"I will come with you, Something fell from the sky and destroyed my precious shed!" said Cocky Locky.
So Henny Penny and Cocky Locky hurried along together towards the king's palace. On the way they saw Ducky Lucky swimming on the pond.
"Where are you going?" he called out as he removed barbed wire from his vegetable patch.
"We are going to tell the king the sky is falling down," replied Henny Penny. "We must go quickly, as there is no time to lose."
"I will come with you, all this stuff must have fallen from the sky aswell! I can't see where else it could have come from!" said Ducky Lucky, shaking the water off his feathers.
So Henny Penny, Cocky Locky and Ducky Lucky hurried on together towards the king's palace. On the way they met Goosey Loosey who was mending holes in her clothes, she called out, "Where are you all going in such a hurry?"
"We are on our way to tell the king the sky is falling down," said Henny Penny.
"I will come with you, something falling from the sky is the only explanation for all these holes in my clothes! How else could these small metal objects make holes like that without falling a great height!" said Goosey Loosey angrily.
So Henny Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky and Goosey Loosey hurried on together towards the king's palace.
Round the next corner they met Turkey Lurkey who looked rather tired. "Where are you all going on this fine day?" she called out to them.
"It won't be a fine day for long," replied Henny Penny. "The sky is falling down, its caused all sorts of problems and we are hurrying to tell the king before anything else has a chance to happen."
"I will come with you, i've had no quiet round here, loud bangs keeping me up all night!" said Turkey Lurkey. So Henny Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey all went on towards the king's palace. Now on their way they met Foxy Loxy who asked, "Where are you going in such a hurry?"
"We are going to the king's palace to tell him the sky is falling down," replied Henny Penny. "That is a very important message," said Foxy Loxy.
"I will come with you. In fact if you follow me I can show you a short cut to the king's palace, so you will get there sooner."
So Henny Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey all followed Foxy Loxy. He led them to the wood, and up to a dark hole, which was the door to his home. Inside his wife and five hungry children were waiting for him to bring home some dinner.
That, I'm afraid, was the end of Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey, for one by one they all followed Foxy Loxy into his home, and they were all eaten up by the hungry fox family.
Henny Penny was the last to enter the Fox's hole and she heard Cocky Locky crowing in alarm in front of her. Squawking with fright and scattering feathers, she turned and ran as fast as she could for the safety of her own farmyard. There she stayed and she never did tell the king that the sky was falling down.
When Henny Penny got home she glanced over at her spot in the farmyard and noticed all the grass had gone and a big crater was in the ground. She moved in for a closer look and something hit her on the head. "My goodness me!" she said, for you see, it was the same object that had fallen from the sky the last time. Thinking upon how things ended up last time, henny penny decided not to go to the king but instead to put it in her old barn for safekeeping and she did so.
The next day, Henny Penny's old barn was in pieces and the object that had fallen from the sky was gone, only to be replaced by another crater. To her amazement she had another idea, "Those foxes must get mighty hungry, and a meal from the heavens is as good a meal as any so i wonder, if the foxes eat this, will it turn them into a crater?" This is the only good idea that henny penny has ever had, if you could call it good at that.
So Henny Penny set of on a mission. She arrived at the foxes house with a basket and called for foxy loxy. Foxy Loxy asked a very scared henny penny to come in and take a seat, Henny Penny wasn't sure whether she should. "I have brought you this present Foxy" She said, "It is a magical thing and if you eat it you will never go hungry again."
Foxy Loxy had his doubts as he was not a dumb fox and he said "And why would you be bringing me gifts after i have eaten all your friends?" Still slightly shaking henny penny replied "I was w-w-w-wondering w-wether you would leave me in peace and p-p-promise not to eat me and in return i shall give you my magical object."
Foxy Loxy Thought about this for a moment, to henny penny magic could meen it smells nice and he knew he could easily gobble up Henny Penny now and take the contents of his bag right now but he would still need to feed the rest of his family if it did work so he took the hamper and told Henny Penny "I accept your gift with thanks hen but i am afraid this is not enough for i have many mouths to feed. If you were to get more of these i would happily oblige."
Henny Penny replied "Ah but did i not say it was magic? Only on of you need eat it and you will never go hungry again!" And with that Henny Penny left, relieved to be away from foxy loxy.
I need not say what happened next. The foxes where no more and no one know what happened to them. Henny Penny returned to her normal life being as thick as ever and another story unfolds elsewhere on the farm.
